Turning the Old Into the New: 7 Ideas for Repurposing Content

Even for the most creative of writers and marketers.  That’'s why creatively repurposing content should be a part of your content marketing strategy. 

When you'’re out of brand new material, look back to compelling content that you’ve created in the past because you can take that material and recycle it into something new for your audience.  Not only does repurposing content help you come up with new ways to connect with your prospects and generate new leads, it’'s also extremely practical since it extends the shelf life of your past content.

Here are seven of the numerous ways you can repurpose content in an engaging way for your target audience:

1) Use Comments From Past Blog Posts to Create New Blog Topics

Revisit some of the blog posts you've written in the past, and take the time to review the comments to find out key questions your audience asked.  Use such commentary as an outline for writing new, and relevant content that shows you are listening and engaging with your audience.

2) Take a PowerPoint Presentation and Share It Online

If you’ve created a PowerPoint presentation for an event or meeting, it probably includes a ton of valuable research and content. Reuse it again by sharing it online via sites like Slideshare, Scribd, Flickr and You Tube.

3) Turn That PowerPoint Into A Series of Blog Posts

That same PowerPoint can also be used to create a series of compelling blog posts. You have all the valuable research already in front of you.

4) Use Data From That Blog Post to Create an Infographic

The wealth of research and data that came from that PowerPoint, that you turned into a series of blog, can be used to create a compelling visual that will get your message across. The infographic can then be shared on various social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. 

5) Repackage A White Paper Into An Interview with an Industry Expert

Look to an original white paper you’ve created, and find an industry expert who can offer insider insight or a solution to the problem presented in the white paper. 6) Tweet Quotes From The Expert Interview

You can pull quotes from that same industry expert and Tweet them out to your followers as a way to promote the interview and link back to the white paper.

7) Utilize an eBook to Create Blog Content

Choose a powerful excerpt from your newest eBook to act as compelling blog content and a way to promote your newest offering.
